Norman’s Hallmark, the nation’s largest independent owner of Gold Crown Hallmark stores, has expanded its brick-and-mortar footprint with a portfolio of eight additional locations in four states. The strategic acquisition, which includes Hallmark stores in Freehold, Moorestown and Cherry Hill, N.J.; Moosic and Easton, Pa.; Newark and Wilmington, Del.; and Elkton, Md., punctuates sustained growth for the Newtown-based greeting card and gift specialty retailer, which also recently opened a new store in Phoenixville, Pa.

“At our latest store additions, customers will see the same friendly faces providing the same great service they have come to expect.” — Howard Henschel, president and CEO

With nearly 70 locations and a strong ecommerce presence, Norman’s Hallmark has grown considerably from its single retail store origins in Trenton, N.J. The chain credits its decades-long success to its ability to evolve with consumers’ shopping habits and create a distinctive customer experience centered around trusted brands.

According to Howard Henschel, president and CEO, Norman’s Hallmark locations each have a distinct personality yet a common objective to serve as an engaging, one-stop destination where shoppers can find the perfect cards and gifts for any milestone or occasion.

“Every Norman’s Hallmark is a true ‘neighborhood’ store and an integral part of that local community,” said Henschel. “Employees are the driving force behind our success and are committed to creating an inspirational and seamless shopping environment for guests. At our latest store additions, customers will see the same friendly faces providing the same great service they have come to expect. They will also see some changes as these stores are modernized and expanded with new merchandise.”

Norman’s offers a full line of Hallmark products, cards for every occasion and Keepsake Ornaments, along with a diverse merchandise selection that includes fashion and fashion accessories, books, stationery, games, home décor, specialty candy and gourmet foods. The company maintains thriving supplier partnerships with household-name brands like Vera Bradley, Lenox, Yankee Candle, Life is Good, Willow Tree, Squishmallows, PuraVida, Godiva and many others.

In addition to new store acquisitions and openings, Norman’s Hallmark has expanded or renovated four locations over the past year. Additional projects are currently in progress or in the pipeline. The company also offers online shopping and Ship From Store (SFS) / Buy Online Pick Up In Store (BOPIS) options via the Hallmark corporate ecommerce website.

“The marketplace is constantly changing, influenced by the way people shop and through evolving competitive dynamics,” Henschel said. “As a family-owned and operated company Norman’s Hallmark has the agility to respond accordingly. As a result, we are poised for additional careful growth in the coming months and years.”
